My Christmas present from Michael came in the mail yesterday. It was so much fun to open it...even though I already knew what it was! I couldn't even wait for Mike to get home from work before I opened it.
I have been wanting a big over sized clock forever. I have always thought they were so cool. So when Mike told me Christmas morning that's what I would be getting for Christmas I was ecstatic. It is gorgeous and I love it. It is 32 inches in diameter and it looks great hanging over our dinning room table. Mike also had it inscribed to say:

The Plane Family
December 15, 2005 to Eternity

My husband is so thoughtful!!

I love you Mike and Thank you again, I LOVE IT!!

The Whole Story

So...as I posted earlier, December 31st was a "Big Day" in The Plane Family, and it all started at about 2:30am. I had this sudden urge that I needed to visit the bathroom. This is really nothing new for a women 8 months pregnant. So I didn't really think anything of it, until after my visit. I stated wondering if my water had broke. I wasn't really sure, and I wasn't feeling any contractions. So I went out to the couch to lay down for a little while and see if anything happened. After watching an episode of That 70's Show I had another strong urge to go to the bathroom, and again I was left wondering if my water had broken.
After a long hot shower I had decided that it was time to call the doctor. I was having some small contractions and I needed to be checked to see if my water had broken because if it had I needed to start antibiotics since I had tested positive for the Strep-B Virus. So I called the hospital and spoke with my doctor who had just gotten home from delivering two other babies. He told me to head to the hospital and he would meet me there.
As I walked back to wake up Mike, I had a rude sensation of running water and I knew that my water was defiantly broken. As I stood in the doorway I shouted at Mike, lovingly, "Get Mark on the phone!", before dashing into the bathroom again. After some sarcastic complaining about what horrible timing I had Mike got out of bed and called our friend Mark ,who had consented months ago to watch Bella for us when we went to the hospital. Both Mark and Mike had been up all night playing games for their Christmas break until about 2 am; so neither one of them were very happy to be woke up and 3:30am.
By the time Mark got to the house I was really starting to have some strong contractions. Izabella had woke up and was not happy about mommy and daddy leaving in the middle of the night, yet she was very excited to have Mark staying with her.
When I got in the car I started timing my contractions because I knew the nurses would ask me how far apart they were when we got to the hospital. In the short 10 min ride it took to get to the hospital my contractions were coming about 3 mins apart. At 4:20 am I was gowned and ready for some drugs, however the nurses informed me that I would have to be checked in before I would receive any. Getting checked in took forever, and I'm not joking. It really did feel like an eternity. Within about 30 minutes my contractions were only 1 minute apart and I was in a lot of pain. Finally they decided to check if my water had broke and if I was dilated at all. Sure enough my water had broken and I was 3 cm dilated. At this time the nurse left to get my IV ready and to find out what I could have for pain. 10 mins later she had just gotten in my IV and I told her that I really felt the urge to push. It had only been 15 mins since my last check but she thought she would check again.
Her eyes got very big as she realized I was completely dilated and the babies head was right there. All it took was her going to the door and 6 other nurses came flying into the room and luckily their was a doctor asleep in the doctors rest room that they were able to wake up because 2 contractions, 1 push and about 5 mins later my little Abigail was in the world, at 5:23am.
She weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and was 20 in long. She had a head full of dirty blond hair and was perfect. The doctor and nurses were all concerned that I hadn't received any antibiotics and rushed her to the NICU to run some tests. Two minutes after our little angle was born my doctor walked into the room. He couldn't believe that he had missed it, again! (He had to have surgery two years ago and missed delivering Izabella as well).
All I could say was, "See Mike, I told you I could do it with no Drugs!" To tell you the truth, I really think this is the way to go. Here I am 2 days later and I feel like a new person. I feel GREAT!! And I do have to say ladies, I didn't scream once!! If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't do anything different.
And just as a side note, after delivering Izabella Mike informed me that labor was nothing like the movies. After this delivery he had a different thought.
"That was just like the movies without all the dramatic screaming. You could have even ran the whole delivery in a single episode!" Leave it to Mikey to make a comment like that.
I think he also appreciated being able to go home and be back in bed before 10:00am.

My Two Girls

Everyone is home, and we are all doing very well. We got a phone call Sunday morning from the Doctor telling us we could come get little Abigail and bring her home. I couldn't wait! However, I had to wait for my husband to get out of bed and get ready. It was the longest hour of my life. I thought men where suppose to get ready faster then women?!

Izabella was so excited to meet her new little sister. I couldn't set the car seat down soon enough. She jumped up on the couch and looked into the car seat. Then she didn't know what to do. I took Abigail out of the car seat and set her down next to Izabella and the first thing she did was kiss her on the forehead and smile! Then she wanted to hold her. So she sat on mommies lap and help her little sister. I think her smile tells it all! The little red hat was one that the nurse taking care of Abigail in the NICU made for her. Izabella told me she wants one that matches her sisters. Then today I got Abigail ready for her first outing. We had to go to the doctor for her new born wellness check. Izabella was so excited to help mommy get her ready. We bathed her, and lotioned her, we dressed her up cute and even made a little bow to put in her hair. I couldn't ask for a more helpful big sister. Then it was picture time. Izabella has hit the age of posing for pictures. She loves getting her picture taken and she has one of the hammiest smiles I've ever seen. Got to love her!!Izabella loves giving Abigail Kisses and Hugs!
Here are my two BEAUTIFUL girls. I don't think Mike and I could be any more blessed.

We want to thank everyone for their phone calls and messages of congratulation. The entire family is home and we are all doing very well. Better then I expected actually. Now we will just need to figure out how to adjust from being a family of three to a family of four. Wish us luck!!

Love,

Michael, Stefanie, Izabella, and Abigail

A Big Day!!

December 31st is a day that will not be forgotten in "The Plane Family"...
Let me take you back to December 31st, 2007 about 11:17pm when Izabella Arrow Plane was born. She instantly stole Mike and my hearts. This is what she looked like then...
I can not believe that it was 2 years ago when this little 5 lbs 13 oz little angle came into this work. Still to this day this little angle keeps Mike and I smiling. We love to watch her grow and learn. I can't believe my big girl is turning 2 years old and now weights 24 lbs, it seems only yesterday I was holding her for the very first time.
Now I am struggling to keep up with her. To celebrate her birthday Bella decided that she wanted a Tinkerbell or "Bell" party as she would say. Since I was almost ready to explode I decided that it was a good idea to order a store cake for this birthday since I didn't really have the energy to make one. So on Monday morning Izabella and I went to Walmart and she picked out this cake for her party. It is all she talked about all week, was going to pick up her cake for the party!
Here is Daddy and Bella blowing out her Two candles!!
I'd say by the look of thinks that the cake was a big hit!!
Izabella had lots of friends come to her party and she received so many great gifts. We really want to thank everyone that came and for all the wonderful love and gifts that where shared.
I do have to say that Izabella's favorite gift is her Tinkerbell Trike. I really hope warm weather comes soon or she is going to wear out my carpet.
I am so glad that Isabella had such a wonderful birthday, and that her daddy was able to be there to share it with her....Mommy however was not so lucky and missed this special day.
Why you might ask?
Well, December 31st 2009 is another date to set on our calendar. I decided to keep the family tradition alive (my sister Kira Lynn was born on my first birthday) and this was the day that Abigail Charlotte Plane was born at about 5:23 AM.
This little 6 lbs 11 oz bundle of joy was in a hurry to get into this world and decided that she wanted to be her big sisters special birthday present!!
Abigail was born very quickly and I was unable to receive antibiotics for the Beta Strep bacteria I had tested positive for, so she has to stay 48 hours in the NICU to make sure she didn't contract the bacteria during birth.
It has been very hard not being able to hold her and cuddle her when ever I want too. And with the strict rules at the hospital for the flu season Izabella is not allowed to come to hospital to see her new sister and no one but Mike and I are allowed into the NICU. So this little angle will have to wait a little while to meet the rest of her eager family.
Abigail is doing very well. Yesterday when she was born Mike and I were told that she would more then likely have to spend 5 to 7 days in the NICU to be tested for the Beta-Strep and because of some slow breathing she was experiencing. They also thought she might have pneumonia because of the cold I have been fighting off the last couple of weeks. However, after tests to day, she has improved more then expected and they were able to rule out the possibility of pneumonia. They are now saying that if she tests negative for the Beta-Strep that she might be able to come home tomorrow!! So keep your fingers crossed and help us pray that she will be able to meet her big sister tomorrow. I will be sure to post more pictures and the "Real Story" very soon.
We that you all for you thoughts, calls, and words of congratulations!! We love you all and can't wait for you to meet our little Abigail.
Let's here it for "The Plane Girl's Day"!!
I know that sharing a birthday will not always seem like the ideal thing for both girls, however if I can survive sharing my birthday for the last 28 years and counting I'm sure they will too.
Love you lots,
Michael, Stefanie, Izabella, and Abigail
